She Was Here: Women's History Walking Tour

Discover the stories of remarkable women who shaped New York City! Join AAUW NYC Metro for a guided walking tour celebrating women's history, hidden legacies, and lasting impact.

When and Where

Nov 07, 2026, 11:00 AM EST

Barry Flanagan’s Hare on Bell Statue, 6½ Avenue & W 51st Street, Midtown Manhattan, NYC.

Event Description

Join AAUW NYC Metro for a special walking tour celebrating the women who helped shape New York City's history. Together, we'll explore the stories, contributions, and legacies of women whose impact deserves to be seen and remembered.

Where to Meet

We'll gather at Barry Flanagan's Hare on Bell statue, a bronze rabbit sitting on a bell, located at 6½ Avenue and 51st Street.

For directions, you can search for Ground Central Cafe on 51st Street.

Look for your guide carrying or wearing a blue She Was Here tote bag, shirt, or hat.

Please arrive by 10:50 AM. The tour will begin promptly at 11:00 AM, so we recommend allowing a little extra time for subway delays and NYC surprises!

Nearby restrooms: Ground Central Cafe.

The tour will conclude at the Women's Pioneer Monument in Central Park, near 63rd Street.

We look forward to exploring the city, discovering women's stories, and spending a wonderful morning together!
