For Girls in Science: L'Oréal USA x AAUW NYC Metro Mentorship Program Applications Now Open!

Applications are officially OPEN! for our For Girls in Science Mentorship Program, supported by L'Oréal USA!

This exciting new program will match five NYC high school students with a woman working in science. Through a twelve month curriculum, they’ll receive training in research design and science communication, a tour of L'Oréal's Research and Innovation lab in New Jersey, a kickoff week at L'Oréal USA's New York headquarters in October, and the chance to present at the For Girls in Science Summit at Fordham University on March 6, 2027. The year ends with a final showcase and a short film about the cohort presented at L’Oréal’s For Women in Science Awards in Fall 2027. 

Mentors

We’re looking for women working in STEM, across academia and industry, who are excited to bring a young person into their world of research, inquiry, and discovery. You'll work one-on-one with your mentee across the year, with workshops and support from AAUW NYC Metro throughout, and receive a $2,500 honorarium.

Mentees

Do you know an ambitious high school junior or senior in NYC who is curious about science? No need for a finished idea or a perfect transcript.
