On September 10, 2025, members and friends of AAUW NYC Metro gathered at Smashburger in Manhattan for a fun and meaningful evening in support of gender equity in New York City.
We intentionally chose a welcoming, family-friendly venue to bring together women and girls of all ages — and it worked! The youngest attendee was just eight years old, joined by teens, college students, young professionals, and accomplished community leaders who all share the same goal: creating a city where women and girls can learn, lead, and thrive.
Together, we raised $204 in one evening to support AAUW NYC Metro programs like Girls for STEM and Rising Leaders, as well as new initiatives that promote education, leadership, and equity for women and girls across New York City.
Events like this show that every connection counts — whether over burgers, fries, or inspiring conversation. Each dollar raised helps sustain AAUW NYC Metro’s mission to advance education, leadership, and advocacy for gender equity in our city.

From the youngest future leader to the most seasoned change-maker, every voice matters — and together, we’re building a stronger, more equitable New York City.
